These conveyors are used to move flowable, lumpy and unit loads.
The track of the belt conveyor in the horizontal plane is in-line, but in the vertical one it may be inclined or have a complex configuration.
Belt conveyors may have different traffic lane both with inclined parts and with bends.
The drag-out and load-carrying surface is represented by the slide rail, which moves on support rollers, enveloping the pulleys of the drive and idler end units, and if necessary, the bend pulley.
Goods move on the slide rail together with it. The slide rail may have a flat or grooved shape. The necessary tension of the slide rail is provided by the belt tensioner. The drive end consists of a motor, a gear reducer, a pulley and connecting sleeves.
Belt conveyors have high reliability and provide significant performance, which at high speeds (6 ... 8 m/s) can reach 20 000 and more tons/h. It is much higher than the performance of other types of conveyors.
With its simple design and use conveyors have high reliability in all producing conditions.
Limitations: difficult to use when transporting powdered, hot and heavy unit loads, as well as with the track incline angle of more than 18 ... 20 degrees; the high cost of the slide rail and rollers.
